Among racial/ethnic minorities, the group for whom vaccines adoptions are occurring most slowly are Black people. We are proposing the use of state data and Los Angeles County data combined with other sources that will allow us to focus solely on behavioral and social factors integral to both public health advisories such as mask wearing and care interventions such as vaccinations behaviors. We will use the California Health Interview Survey 2020 and 202, the American Community Survey 2019 5-year file, data from the California Health and Human Services Open Data Portal, and area-based neighborhood indicators, that are publicly available in AskCHIS Neighborhood Edition. These analyses will point to opportunities for effective messaging increasing vaccine uptake and risk reduction measures for Black Californians.
